EMERGENCY CALL OUTS

We aim to help anyone in an emergency and will do our best to keep our prices as fair as possible. Callout charges are applied due to travel time, assessment of the job and taking time out of our busy schedule of works. But here's some helpful tips to dealing with an emergency.

What to do in an emergency for water leaks.

Safety First: Turn off the water supply!

Turn the main shut-off valve that supply's your house off, this is usually under your kitchen sink, but can sometimes be in your entrance hall or downstairs toilet, depending on house age.(This is always the most important first step).

Assess the Situation (Carefully): Try to identify the source of the problem. If you've found it, is there an isolation valve to turn off just that appliance??? or is it a bigger issue, like a split pipe?

Contain the Damage: If possible, try to contain the leak with buckets, towels, etc.

Decide DIY or Call a Pro: If you're a hands on person, you might be able to sort this issue/leak out by yourself (like plunging a toilet, changing a tap that's leaking etc), but if it is to much for you, then make sure you give us a call, as most emergencies require a qualified plumber as there could be an underlying issue.

GIVE US A CALL

  • Burst pipes (This can be due to fitting failure, cold weather causing the pipe to split, pin holing due to age etc)
  • Major leaks (This is usually caused from the above or lack of care/service on water heaters and central heating systems)
  • Blocked drains and overflowing toilets (especially if causing sewage backup)

  • Water heater failure (especially if causing flooding or no hot water in cold climates)

  • Gas leaks (if related to gas lines connected to water heaters or appliances –CALL YOUR GAS PROVIDER STRAIGHT AWAY!
